Issuance of vehicle license
For each import license and for each extension, the Customs Service Fee (TSA) is charged upon processing of the respective document.
Scope of application
According to the law in force in the Republic of Mozambique, the temporary admission regime applies to vehicles entering the country, under the following conditions:
Light motor vehicles, whether on a tourist or business trip, pertaining to or driven by persons not resident in Mozambique, including: Trailers, caravans, pleasure boats, caravans and motorcycles and motorcycles.
Ambulances and hearses when in international transport service;
Commercial vehicles used for the carriage of goods and passengers on international voyages owned by natural or legal persons who are not domiciled in Mozambique, provided that they have been authorized to perform their activity by the Ministry of Transport and Communications;
Motor vehicles and tractors intended for works belonging to the State or to projects approved by the Government, with a description and classification specified in the Customs Tariff. Vehicles may only be driven by persons duly authorized by the undertaking and integrated into the specific project.
Vehicles with or without a special device and their personal belongings owned by natural or legal persons who do not have their domicile in the Country and who have a contract to work in Mozambique, with certain exceptions provided for in the Law, and provided that they are not equipment for recreation.
Issuance of the license for light vehicles, ambulances, hearses and commercial vehicles
For the purpose of issuing the temporary importation permit, the driver of the vehicle must complete the model 10c license form in duplicate, sign it and submit it with carnet or equivalent document and other relevant documents, together with the vehicle, to the authorities of the customs office of entry.
Subsequently, the official of the customs office of entry, responsible for issuing the temporary importation permit, shall ensure that it is issued in accordance with the legislation in force, signing it by posting the stamp in use at Customs, in case it does not find fraud .
